At the University of Chicago Convocation and the Chicago Booth Graduation Ceremony, you will be wearing academic attire (regalia) that continues the traditions that began hundreds of years ago. The gowns, hoods, and hats date from medieval times and indicate the wearer is an educated person. We are proud that this year all of the GreenWeaver® regalia worn by students at Convocation and Graduation will be environmentally sensitive. It is made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.
